Zion is best known for his creation of the rascally dog, Harry, who appears in such books as HARRY THE DIRTY DOG and HARRY BY THE SEA. He spent the day seeking out the dirtiest places to play (railways, street works, building sites and coal chutes) and transformed himself from a white dog with black spots into a black dog with white spots. Harry disliked having a bath so much that one day he buried the scrubbing brush and ran away from home.
